How firm a foundation...

If the wise man builds his house upon the rock, and the foolish man builds his house upon the sand...what happens when they become roommates? Where do they build their house? If you have ever found yourself pondering these questions let me just tell you...YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE!

Well, for those that have pondered that you are not alone. The FHE coordinators in my ward asked that same question. The answer is...they built their house in the church parking lot with
cardboard and tape.

For FHE last night we built cardboard houses. We were divided up into our FHE families, and given a HUGE pile of cardboard and three rolls of tape. The rules were that we had 45 mins. to build a house that would fit our whole family inside. With a little creativity we built a very tall house that had a dog house on one side and a car-port with a car on the other side. We had two windows with blinds and planter boxes with flowers. There was also a vaulted ceiling with two pillars to support the roof. I wish that you could have been there to see it. It was fantastic! Unfortunately we didn't win. The house with a hot tub won. I still don't believe that a cardboard hot tub is that practical! I mean seriously! After the houses were judged and it was time to clean up my family carried our house to the dumpster and on the count of three we all took a swing, and down she went. The dumpster filled up fast, and so we moved on to the dumpster of the church next door. Needless to say, it filled up just as fast...but there was still a huge pile of cardboard. So we filled the back of someones truck and they hauled it away!

So, the moral of the story is...if you ever meet the wise man and the foolish man and they are thinking about becoming roommates and building a house together...warn the wise man that it is a bad idea!
