Last Day of Summer.

We love hiking to Cecret Lake in Albion Basin. But, we usually get to it the last day of summer. But at least we got there.
It gives me anxiety getting there and parked, there are like 12 spots and five million people that hike it. This year we left our house at 8 and I was sure we would be way late for a spot, but surprisingly enough, there were plenty of spots (four) empty when we got to the trail.
This was Preston's first "big" hike, and although slower because he was interested in everything, he was a trooper.

He did hitch a ride a few times :)
 The wildflowers were gorgeous!
And we made it to the top! It took us an hour to go a mile, but hey, we made it!

 Hiking babies!
 And look how we've grown...
Here's last year, 2014...
And this year, 2015..

By the time we got down, 11-ish, there were a million people lined up waiting for a spot. A rock-chuck ran into Hayden's leg and that made him dance around and scream. Haha, then he was so scared everytime he saw one. Hayden and Preston were admiring the dumpster, and a bunch of rock-chucks came out from under it and you would have thought he was being chased by a bear the way he ran away screaming! Love my Hayden.
We had a great time. Wonderful way to end the summer.

June 2015.

David got out of school the first week of June and we were off to St.George. It was hot. But we had a great time!
We visited Zions. The Botanical Gardens.
 And the splash pad.
We had so much fun visiting! The boys love having cousins to play with. And the pool in St. George is the best!
Father's Day brought new ties for all my boys. Handsome, boys. I am one lucky girl.

We replaced our bunny-ears with an antennae that looks like a mouse pad...and lies on the floor behind the curio. Apparently that's where it gets the best reception. Hayden is sentimental like I am, and didn't want to get rid of the old antennae...so he made his own TV.
Thanks to Grandma and Carrie for apricots! We were able to make two sets of jam and our new favorite (thanks, Judy!) apricot butter! Ymmm.
Our garden struggled a little getting going because of the heat, but it looked pretty good.
We got SO many peas! But we loved them! They were a little tricky to find, being the same color as the vines, but tasty!
We were outside in the shade a lot, since it was cooler than our house. Preston tried eating with his toes, like Curious George. "I Georgio" haha Baby Mustard.
David was working on a million classes this summer, so while he worked, the boys and I watched a little Paula Deen. Hayden loves her voice! He often mimics her "Hey ya'll, I'm Paula Deen" haha Adorable. He's got great taste.
Seriously, so hot. We were using our tortillas as fans at dinner.
After checking out the swamp cooler multiple times, David decided to spray all the pads down with the hose! Voila! We've been comfortable (not necisarrily cool) since! We've done this pretty regularly since :)
...and we cool off in the water. But only in the shade. On the grass. #waterwise

Oh June, you were hot, but I miss you.

August 2014.

David had to go back to school the second week of August, there wasn't too much time to get things done.
After I painted the curious, I got some antique brackets off ebay and made a shelf to go across them...

While David and I are measuring, stud finding, and marking....Hayden is doing this...
picking off the wall! David says he gets it from me. Oh Hayden. But seriously, I am a picker.
 Shelf up.
While I was outside spray painting picture frames, David lowered the curtains, for the 3rd time. Measure once, cut thrice. Right?
Haha, yes, we still have bunny ears. We were going to build a table for the TV, but since we still have to have the antennae it wouldn't fit, so we just left it on our coffee table for now.
 We went to wheeler farm.
Hayden always tells me that his favorite animal is a sheep.

I love this little scuby body shirt of Preston's, so cute.
Katie and her cows. If my mom sees anything cow, she makes sure to get it for Katie. Katie is building a nice collection of bovine.

I love the goats! David says they creep him out. David is not a farm boy.

The boys love every big truck/tractor! They are obsessed with the garbage man and have a standing appointment every Monday on the front step, watching the garbage man go up and down our street.

 Working on "the dance floor"
If there are tools involved, you can been assured that Preston is not far away. He can smell out a tape measure a mile away.
 We hiked Donut Falls.
 ...in our matching Aggie Shirts.
The boys did great on the hike. Hayden loved scampering up the rocks.

On our way down the canyon, we stopped for a picnic. And frozen. It's okay, the cold never bothered us anyway.

We went to Cabela's.....and waited an hour to see them feed the fish. I'm sorry to say, the fish went hungry that night.
The bandaid on Hayden's head? ...he said it made him feel better
When we are outside, I often get this look...
 ....followed by this!
haha, love my boys. I've been chased by them with the hose at least once a week this summer.
Another painting project.
I love this mirror that we got from our old neighbor's, for $5! but I'd been wanting to paint it white since I got it. Since I paint everything white.
It took me longer to tape the mirror than to paint it!
...so while I painted the mirror out in the garage, the boys patched and painted the wall that Hayden picked.
An extra exciting thing...a pumper truck. If you thought that we stayed on the porch and watched it for over an hour...you'd be right
We finally made it to Albion Basin to hike to Cecret Lake, on the last day of summer.

We were a week or two late for the millions of blooms, but it was still beautiful.
 Lunch at the top.

 Never miss a selfie-op
David couldn't be in our picture because of that hat.

Our garden flourished. We've had an ample supply or crookneck, and just recently tomatoes.
...and we flooded.  Not as bad as our neighbors. But enough to get the only finished room in our basement all wet. It's been a month now, and the laminate hasn't stunk...so it might be okay. We still need to repaint.

And we had the best fishing of our lives!
The boys and I went up to UintaLands with my parents to check on things and get new pictures to put it up for sale. On the way back, we stopped at Butterfly Lake, got the perfect spot, and couldn't stop reeling them in!
 It was freezing....and raining....and snowing.
But there was no way we were going to leave the best fishing we'd had in years. Like 28 years.

Soaking wet Selfie. Granny has had that coat for 28 years.

David put up an extra self in each of our closets. It is so handy. Finally we are cleaning our room so it won't be like the "junk drawer" of our house.
And we hiked the Moose Loop.
Yes, wearing our Aggie Shirt. We only wear Aggie Shirts.
