Timpanogos Cave. June 2017

For years I have wanted to go to Timpanogos Cave, and we finally got there. Actually, one year, on free day, we went....but we had no idea it was a giant hike, you needed tons of water and it took hours, so we left. This time, we planned. We picked a morning tour time, and got all the pictures in while we were fresh.

We took lots and lots  of breaks on the way up, but it's okay, we had an hour and a half :)
Brooks rode up the mountain in the backpack, inside the cave I carried him in the moby. ...he was 13 months, which was a little big for the moby, but we managed

All the babies love the backpack, we have gotten a lot os good use out of it....who could blame them
...we finally made it to the top. It was a pretty wild hike, but we made it.

We have no pictures in the cave, but it was worth the hike! The boys earned their junior ranger and were so excited to get their badge. I am ready to go again this summer...I don't know about Brooks though, now he's too big to pack up to the cave, and too wild to watch inside, haha, we'll see :)

June Hikes, Bikes, Naps and The Iceberg.

This is my FAVORITE chair! David and Brooks seem to like it too :)
All the boys practicing their biking skills
 Brooksers cheeks :)
 Hiking up at Silver Lake
Hayden and Preston checking out the baby fish...which I just learned today at a baby shower, are called "fries"

 Blonde little Brooks
Keeping it Aggie style, even in the yard :)
When they trenched our yard, we thought they trenched right through Hayden's little garden. He was very distraught over his Chocolate Flower, however, they self-seed and quite a few babies popped out :)
Haha, this is not an uncommon sight at our house
We planted peas this year, actually, we plant peas every year. We weren't very consistent about water (because we were working so hard on all our sprinklers ) so they didn't produce many, but anything you can gather from the garden is fun :)
And you know it's summer, when you are gathered at the iceberg. Fran and Gary joined us, of course ordering a Cherry-Chocolate Chip. We probably ended up with Peanut Butter Chocolate chip, chocolate chip cookie dough and pineapple marshmallow...or something odd like that :)

Britt's Birthday. 28.

This year my birthday came on the 22. Like every year, but my Mom has a hard time remembering, so I thought I'd just throw it out there.
Anyhow, as is tradition, David stayed home from school and we hiked up to Bells Canyon. And as is tradition, he tried to tell me that he couldn't get it off and that he had to go to school. Also, in following tradition, he couldn't take it anymore, and told me the day before that he actually did get it off and he was staying home. How I love tradition!
It took us a little longer to get there than we had hoped, we are a little slower than we used to be, but luckily we found a parking spot. Hayden was excited to wear his running shirt just like Dad.
It's been a while since Preston has been in the backpack, so he wasn't so sure about it...
Hayden even carried his own water. It was only half-full so it wouldn't be too heavy, and we now know we need to make a strap across his chest.
At the reservoir.
I love this hike, not too hard, and if you go up from Little Cottonwood (not off of Wasatch Blvd) it's pretty much all shade. Hayden hiked the whole way and was fine.
....and since everyone's into selfies
Once we got to the reservoir, which is as far as we went, we found a shady spot and had lunch. A Goose spotted us from all the way across the water and came over. A friendly goose.
We also saw a bunch of trout swimming right near the shore.... apparently they liked us more than the guy we could see fishing across the way

Such a fun hike! And, we learned something awesome about our camera...it has a feature where you choose how long and how many pictures to take when it's on timer. Great feature! With the joby and this feature, no need for selfies!
I had a great birthday! Fun hike with my boys followed by a great dinner with family! And BONUS, delicious Birthday Bread Pudding! ..I am spoiled.
It's strange to think that I am 28. If someone where to ask me my age, I would seriously say 23.
But I'm 28, and it's great!
