It's been a while, and now it's almost the middle of January....man how time flies. Here's a recap of our Christmas festivities....
We went to Zoo Lights...it was pretty cool. And Freezing Cold, but fun.
They had real reindeer at the Zoo Lights. The ones we saw were pretty short, maybe they were the elves'...Katie managed to get inside this egg with Hayden...
And David managed to get inside this turtle shell.
For Christmas we went down to St. George. It was a little different not to have any snow, except not that different since there wasn't any in Salt Lake either. It was good to see everyone. Hayden had a fun time playing with all the cousins. He isn't around people his size very often.
I feel that Hayden's favorite gift was the box of rocks from his mom.
While we were in St. George we went four-wheeling. It was pretty cold, but David was too tough to wear a coat.
The two boys out for a ride.
After St. George, and a quick stop back in Salt Lake, we headed up to the cabin. There was a little more snow there than in the Valley, but not much. For Christmas we made my Dad a photobook of his youth. There were some real neat pictures in that book. Let's just say I am glad that he doesn't wear short shorts anymore.
Hayden got some new tools so he can fix things with his Daddy.
...and he got a car so Mom can teach him how to drive.
One of the most fun things was a sleigh that you pull. He loved going down the driveway. And whoever is pulling gets quite a work out going up and down the hill.
Hayden made us get up a lot earlier than anyone else at the cabin.
We tried to go sledding as big people...that didn't work too well. There wasn't enough snow to cover all the rocks and our tubes were twenty years old. The duct tape that was covering all the holes in the tubes created too much friction and you didn't move.....we got some boogie-board snow things for this weekend...
After we got home from the cabin it was time to put away all the holiday decorations. Bittersweet. It was nice to have the room back, but it makes our house look a little empty...
Hayden loves playing with all his new things.
And to end this post....here is a picture of Hayden with some slippers from our neighbor Fran. She's the slipper lady and she wanted him to have some. Cute.
