On the way down, Hayden drew a cow, which I thought was picture worthy.
The boys always have a great time with cousins. Preston really liked refering to Anderson's "map"
David and his Dad were up early for the marathon. The boys and I were up half a second later, and off to the mayors walk with Michelle, Ben and Emma.
Sweet little Mustard would not walk a step, and so I carried him the whole way. I'm pretty sure carrying him two miles was just as much, if not more, work than running the whole marathon.
Hayden was ready to go, and went most of the way with Sarah.
I while later we went down to the corner to watch for David and Papa.
And he made it! Truly, I was worried he might die. But he didn't, so that was good. And he even got a tiny faster than last time. So he was happy.Way to go, David!
I knew from the beginning that this was the last summer of the jeep. We've been loving having the top off all summer and cruisin'. we had always planned on going up Butterfield Canyon...and then it was October. We figured it was the last chance we had, so one Saturday, at 5, we threw the boys in the back with some blankets, packed some hot chocolate and were off.
We finally got to the top. We definitely did not dress warm enough! It was freezing and windy. But the view of the Valley was gorgeous!
The boys found a little bit of refuge in the front seats from the wind and drank their cocoa. David and I then gave them our jackets, bundled them up, strapped them in and cranked up the heat!
I'm glad we went. I wish we had gone earlier in the summer so the boys could have enjoyed it a bit more. But I enjoyed it.
In October we harvested our sad potato crop :( Potatoes were my favorite thing last year. This year we traded their prime spot in the garden for the beets. The beets thrived, the potatoes, not so much. Next year, no beets!
The boys also picked their pumpkins. We got two. We only needed two, so it worked. We got one for David in Logan, and the three boys had a great time carving. Preston and Hayden are so excited to scoop out the seeds...until they stick their hand in and change their minds.
We enjoyed going to Gardner Village a time or two to see all the witches. Hayden LOVES Halloween!
We joined David and Hayden for Halloween at Cottonwood. David went as Mike Wazowski, Hayden as a wizard, and Preston as a Pirate. Preston went to David's Party, and I went to Hayden's.
Halloween night Hayden put on his beard, but wouldn't pull it up to a mustache because it itched :) And Preston climbed in his Digger. We had a great time trick or treating. It was a little tricky to get Preston up all the steps at the houses, but other than that, a success!
I was a little worried about their homemade holiday costume choices this year. But David and Preston rocked the digger. And Hayden and I made a pretty fine wizard. Halloween Success 2015.
