Easter at Goblin Valley.

Thursday before Easter, we all packed up into the Excursion, and headed down the Goblin Valley.
We left around 10, 2 hours earlier than we had all thought, and got there at 5. It was a nice long ride. It snowed in Spanish Fork Canyon on the way down. But when we finally got there, and found a spot, sun. And Wind. LOTS of wind.
Preston got right to business, getting all his sand tools and digging in the dirt.
There were SO many people there! But we found a great spot, with nobody around. It didn't have the great big rock to climb, fly kites, etc like when we were little. But it did have lots of dirt. The boys like Dirt. Preston to dig in, Hayden to sweep.
Although it was sunny, the wind kept it pretty cold.

Even the trailer was a little chilly. We broke out "the pickle" (the lime green blanket from when mom was at MSU) and the Old Maid that Katie had marked the cards.
 Mom read. A Lot.
Haha, here's Preston tuckered out from our first day of fun. With all the wind, we didn't make a fire the first night. And, for future reference, it was Katie who brought the gigantic bag and backpack. Not Britt, Katie.
Preston loved his bed, and surprisingly stayed up there, no problem.
Hayden loved his bed...the first night:)
Day two. With all the wind, you would think we could get a kite up, right? Wrong.
...but we did do a lot of rock collecting :)
Day two we were able to have a fire. The spot that we picked even came with a bundle of firewood.

The boys' first campfire. Sad, but true.

At last, Hayden learns a smore does not come from the microwave.
Haha, I am actually lol-ing looking at this picture. Everyone made fun of Mom for bringing the puffer coat (which was actually mine from 9th grade, during my NSYNC days)...but then we all wished we had it since it was so chilly.
Saturday we made it to Goblin Valley. #aggiestyle #represent
 My sweet Little Haydo.
The boys sure loved climbing on everything. The ranger said that it was the busiest day of the year, the Saturday before Easter. We all had a good time. The boys are ready to go back.
...and back to the trucks and the sand.

Coloring Eggs.

 And Easter Morn.
Surprise, the Easter Bunny found us, and brought the boys matching (because the bunny knows I love twins!) garbage truck shirts! Yay!
Then it was time for, the hunt.
They found eggs. Then we hid eggs. Then they found them. It was great.
...and then the eggs went in the truck.
Everyone loved the etch-a-sketch that was in the trailer. David got pretty skilled at it and even made a garbage truck, complete with a claw.
Hayden loved hiking around. He also LOVED getting rocks.
We tried again to get a kite up, and sucess!

 Mustard the last night.
By Monday, he was an expert at getting down "by self"
All the boys loved cramming in with Katie and reading their new Easter stories. The Easter Bunny was silly and got Dumbo for Preston...forgetting that Mom can't handle anything sad. "Stop Cry Mommy"...so they got Katie to read if they wanted Dumbo
And cleaning up. Sad to leave. But ready to go.

We had a great time. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures to document that David and I slept on the table, equivalent to a twin bed, 2 of the nights with Hayden in it too. Nor did we get a picture of the accident at the dump station....fortunately, it wasn't our hose the came off gushing sludgy sludge all over. We were thankful for that. With four dozen eggs and whole lot of yogurt, we were well fed. Hayden swept a few times a day, so the trailer was clean as a whistle.

And while Grandpa and David were getting the trailer all hooked up to leave, Hayden, Granny and Mom snuck our rock collection into every spare bit of space in the Excursion, hopefully without Grandpa knowing. "Lucy!" ....check out The Long Long Trailer. We always try to sneak rocks, but he always gets mad. If you have the kids helping, it seems to lessen the blow.
But it was worth it, we got enough to make a beautiful walkway back to our hose. Haha, and Grandpa wasn't too mad
