Preston turns 5. February 13 2018.

My sweet baby Mustard turned five Valentine's Eve 2018. He is the spunkiest, most inquisitive little sweetie. He chooses his Croc colors based the holidays and likes his hair flat.

For his birthday we visited the aquarium.
We were excited about the butterfly exhibit...it was different than I expected, but it did include some butterflies. These are the butterflies in their cocoons.
Boys on the bridge. Preston isn't wearing crocs, curious.

Shark tube, Hayden finding his peaceful place.
 Penguins.

Preston wanted a fire man cake for his birthday, again. Last time we ran out of red, so the engine was orange-ish. Haha, I still don't know if we've gotten more red.
This is the picture he drew in primary of his family. David, Britt, Hayden, Preston, Brooks....and apparently, Brooks is the only one with blonde hair.
This year David used a hot wheels fire engine fore the top.

Preston loved the velcro stick ball thing he got, he loves the games.
And was so excited about his box full of real tools!
And these card holders are the best! Especially for sleeping queens or SushiYa.
 Haha, More games.
This year I remembered, and David and I got all the "5" in the hall for when he woke up, yay!
Preston's birthday landed on a Tuesday, a $2 Tuesday, so we headed over to the Jungle Jim's with some of our friends. Haha, it was worth about $2 and the next week Jungle Jim's closed! I guess that's why they weren't too concerned about fixing all the broken seat belts :)
To keep things low key, we made birthday cake Oreos for the friends to take home, they turned out delicious and didn't look too bad either. I love a sprinkle

Yay, Happy Fifth Birthday Mustard. Keep asking questions and making pillow landing pads for when you jump down the stairs.

Crawdad Fishing, Stuff and New Windows. Sept 2017.

Every year we try to go crawdadding. We try to avoid when they have eggs, but we don't really know when that is. This year we went the beginning of September, and they were egg free! Yay! ...because the eggs are gross.
Haha, I got this little tent-y contraption at Savers, after I google it, it's a puppy thing, but it worked great for Brooks. You could put the top on, or off. Same with the floor. So we took the floor out so he could play in the sand, and left the roof on, so he was in the shade. 👊
Anyone can fish for crawdads....take chicken legs, leave them out overnight so they are super stinky, tie a long string onto one end...throw in the lake and wait a bit. Pull in the string, holding a colander in the other hand, and scoop up the crawdads!
The boys mostly loved being at the lake.
Hayden and Brooks
 Brooks.
...and Dash looks like a wet rat.
 Preston
Brookser in the mud. Dirt is the best toy ever.
BFF. Dash and Bernie. Ebony and Apricot.
 Baby Mustard.
My new maidenhair fern from the Farmer's Market, which, I forgot until now that I had. I just told David, I am going to be so surprised this spring/summer with all the plants that come up that I have forgotten about :)
The BEST yogurt ever! It's not really that healthy. And it's not cheap (unless you get it at Smith's on a woo-hoo, which of course I do) but it is delicious! The vanilla isn't bad either, but that Maple Brown Cow, delicious.
Dirt and boxes, best toys ever.
Brooks showing his team spirit. Believe it or not, David dressed Brooks this day :)
When we bought our house, we had the worst windows. Every one was all cloudy because the seals were broken. ...like our front window...

We replaced the front window first thing on our house, but the boys' windows and kitchen windows were hadn't replaced. It was time. (...because Granny and Grandpa gave us one or two from the cabin)
The kitchen view before...
 During...
..and after. Yay! David is such a hard worker. I am so blessed to have a problem solver.

 Brooks' window.
haha, don't mind our nice siding, that's for another time...
I am the biggest chicken, and there is no way I was helping on that ladder, I am glad no one fell.
 Preston helper.
After a long days work, David finished up the three new windows. Really, he could have been done in two hours if he didn't have to cut all the siding, what a pain!
The next day, we gussied up the light in the back..
It was $6 at sam's club, but copper. Which is nice, but I spray painted it black.

haha, it is so fancy that we thought it was broken when it wouldn't turn on, but it just had a light sensor and turns on when it's dark.
I must say, it is significantly brighter than the firefly we had before :)
We still have our horrible sliding door, but we wouldn't want to have all the fun at once...
