First, you will notice, we wear lots of crocs in our family. In fact, last week we bought two more pair....
I asked David if he would wear crocs if he didn't marry me, he said "probably not."
I just laugh and laugh every time I think of this.
For the Fourth of July weekend we headed up to the cabin. We thought it might be a little cooler up there. It wasn't. Well, it was, but it was still hot.
Thursday night we got there around 9, the boys ran and got in their swimsuits and jumped in "the pool."
This time we put them in life jackets which worked surprisingly well. They didn't mind them, and they worked great!
The birds that nest on the front porch I guess left their eggs. They have been there for a month or more, but we haven't seen the birds in a while. They are a beautiful blue color, robin egg.
Once again the boys enjoyed the four wheelers. We didn't even go in BOOMER or Wizzer this time. I even let Hayden drive for a bit. He definitely knows where the throttle is. We are working on learning about the brakes.
He's a wild one. Just like his Dad.
We saw wild turkeys, again! Just down the road David pointed them out. I got off and went back behind the cabin where they were. I probably could have gotten closer, but a giant buck jumped out from behind the cabin, I ran away because I thought it was a cougar.
Who knew, wild turkeys.
These little water dogs can't get enough.
On the Fourth, Tine and Vahan, Fran and Gary, and Scott and Bee came up too.
So fun to have company.
We had a great lunch/dinner, complete with homemade ice cream and fresh picked berries! Delicious.
Then we headed to Midway for the fireworks....but we ended up 5 min out of Heber on the hill watching. You could see them all over the valley. We are so lucky to live in America. So lucky.
Saturday we went to the sandbox with Granny.
We weren't really thinking, and went around 1...when it was 95 degrees. At least we took a lot of water and were protected from the sun, especially Hayden who looks like he was going on Safari.
After the sand we took a little, fifty foot, walk to the lake. They have a little obstacle course like thing, well, a bunch of logs to walk on....the boys loved it!
If you go on any sort of ride (4-wheelers, etc) you can bet that it will put Mustard right to sleep.
...but he'll wake up to play in the sand.
Why we love crocs so much, they clean up so easily!
Last time we were at the cabin we noticed all the creepy web things with cacoons in them. This time they had turned into butterflies.
Gary (who could have been mistaken for a Rainbow Family member) let one crawl on Mustard's finger. So cute,....until he crushed it in his fist, not very Rainbow like.
...and last, another shot of sleeping beauty.
If lunch is not on the table prompty by noon, you can bet this little sweety is going to fall asleep at the table.
Actually last, Hayden softy holding Sugar. Haha Hayden loves Elsa, the kitty, but always runs away because she's got claws. But sweet little Sugar didn't scare him, he just sat and held her. So Rainbow.
Had a great weekend.
Thanks Granny and Grandpa for the fun!
