Last weekend the boys and I went to the cabin with Granny, Grandpa and Katie. Friday night Hayden wore his "crawdad" pajamas to get ready for the next day's adventure.
Saturday morning, my two super chefs made some delicious sourdough pancakes for breakfast.
After breakfast, and sunblock, we were off to the lake. This time we triple checked to make sure we got our stinky chicken legs. (Last time we forgot them, there's no crawdad fishing without stinky chicken legs!) We got to the lake, and were a little worried that our spot would be crowded, from far away we could see lots of cars. Luckily, when we got to our spot it was completely empty, I guess the cars were fisherpeople out in their boats. Lucky. Here's Mom getting her line ready...putting a stinky chicken on a long string...
Katie reeling in her line....
David with his catch. On one time reeling in, David got 21 crawdads!
Hayden loved being at the lake. He loved helping reel in the lines...and he really loved playing in the mud!
Granny was nice enough to let Hayden borrow her fishing hat again. I'm glad that Hayden likes wearing it...he's got Scandinavian skin like his Daddy.
Hayden showed us how the crawdads chomp with their claws.
After a hard days work, we ended up catching a whopping 298 crawdads!... Two whole servings :)
